Overview

Behemoth Brewing Company (Behemoth) was created in 2013, the dream of Andrew Childs; a beer nerd, beer drinker and home brewer.

In the last six years Behemoth has come a long way, going from a 1,200 litre brew once every few months to brewing more than 530,000 litres of beer in the calendar year. This means someone drinks a pint of Behemoth every 30 seconds, somewhere in the world!

Behemoth Brewing Company has grown more than Andrew ever dreamt back when he was home brewing in his kitchen in Wellington in 2012. But each milestone, each award, and each new beer helped him recognise the opportunity to take the company so much further.. Behemoth has had many recognitions for it's delicious beers, the success due to hard work, high quality standards and making beer what it should be - fun! The Behemoth team has worked hard to get a strong core range of beers in place, while also brewing at least two new canned beers a month, with fun and innovation at the forefront.

In the last year Behemoth has partnered strongly, in New Zealand with Foodstuffs (both North and South Island), which includes the retail outlets New World, Pak N Save, Four Square, Henry’s, and Liquorland. It has also developed great trading relationships with numerous traditional liquor customers and craft beer bars and grown new and existing export markets, where there is a lot more opportunity to pursue.

Andrew and the team are rightly proud of Behemoth's profitable position and the company is at a point where new capital is required to grasp the exciting opportunities before them, bringing new and innovative ways for people to enjoy fun and delicious beers (and food). The capital raise will fund, among other key projects, a brewpub in Auckland. This will have the capacity to brew 250,000 litres per year, showcase 25 beers on tap and seat 140 diners. It will also fund establishment into Asian markets, development of satellite Behemoth tap rooms, and for continued growth, both domestically and overseas.
